The center is proud to announce that our newly hired special-term professor, Yingmei Cheng, has recently been awarded the prestigious endowed position: Patty Hill Smith Eminent Scholar Chair in Finance at Florida State University. The Legislature in 1979 created the concept of “Eminent Scholar Chairs” in the State University System, recognizing that the system “would be mainly strengthened by the addition of distinguished scholars.” Dr. Cheng’s appointment as the eminent scholar is the evidence of strong scholarly research agenda and outstanding mentoring of graduate students.
