Dr. Yaqin Su is currently an associate professor at the Center for Economics, Finance and Management Studies (CEFMS) at Hunan University. Yaqin Su received her Ph.D. in economics from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo in 2014 with a presidential scholarship; she received a Master of Science (MS) in Financial Engineering and a Master of Arts (MA) in Economics from the Kent State University in 2005, both funded by scholarships; and she received her Bachelor’s degree in economics from Wuhan University in China.
Dr. Yaqin Su’s current research focuses on human capital, economic development, internal migration, and economics of education. Her research has been published at economics SSCI journals such as Regional Science and Urban Economics, China Economic Review, Applied Economics, Applied Economics Letters, International Regional Science Review, Housing Studies, International Migration, etc.
Dr. Yaqin Su has offered 4 graduate-level courses to master’s students at the CEFMS: Development Economics, Microeconomics, Labor Economics, and Fixed Income. She is currently advising master’s students in their thesis. She has also undertaken various administrative roles such as Assistant to director, Chair of Publicity Committee, first-year graduate student counselor, Chair of Seminar Coordination, and Chair of Job Placement Committee, etc.
