Project title: The impact of occupational characteristics on intergenerational transmission of Earnings
Description: In the new era of rapid development of technology, occupational categories are rapidly becoming more diverse, and the skill requirements of each occupation are changing rapidly. Simple occupational categories can no longer help us understand the underlying causes of occupational income differences. In this study, we will look at two major occupational characteristics-the occupational feminization and human capital level-and examine their impacts on the earnings of the next generation. We will investigate the related stylized facts, build up a model to analyze the potential channels, and provide empirical evidence. The results will be insightful for policy implications.
