Belton Fleisher received his Ph.D. degree in economics from Stanford University in 1961. He was on the Economics faculty of the University of Chicago from 1961 to 1965 and joined the Ohio State University Economics faculty in 1965, where he is now professor emeritus. He taught in the “Ford Class” at Renmin University of China in spring term of 1989 and 1990. In addition to several ful-length books, he has authored and coauthored around 50 articles in professional journals including American Economic Review, Journal of Political Economy, the Review of Economics and Statistics, Journal of Comparative Economics, Journal of Development Economics, Journal of Economic Education, and China Economic Review. Belton is now Scientific Editor of China Economic Review.
